<p style="margin:0in"><b><span style="color:black">What’s the timeframe and commitment to be an issue area group member? </span></b><o:p></o:p></p>

<li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l2 level1 lfo6"><span style="color:black;mso-ligatures:none">The issue area groups will meet for four three-hour workshops from September 2023 through February 2024.
</span><span style="mso-ligatures:none"><o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l2 level1 lfo6"><span style="color:black;mso-ligatures:none">Some preparation and/or collaborative work in-between workshops will also be expected.</span><span style="mso-ligatures:none"><o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l2 level1 lfo6"><span style="color:black;mso-ligatures:none">Dates, times and locations of workshops will be scheduled according to the preferences of the participants in each group. The first two workshops are anticipated
to be held in person.</span><span style="mso-ligatures:none"><o:p></o:p></span></li><li class="MsoNormal" style="mso-list:l2 level1 lfo6"><span style="color:black;mso-ligatures:none">All issue area group participants will also be required to participate in a one-hour orientation to the food plan process to share background and context on the

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="color:black">Any community member with personal or professional experience in an issue area is invited to participate. Our goal is to ensure a diversity of participants with both personal and professional expertise in the
issue area, as well as to have staff from the City of Austin and Travis County participate in each issue area group. </span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><b><span style="color:black">How will the issue area groups operate? </span></b><o:p></o:p></p>
<p style="margin:0in"><span style="color:black">Each issue area group will work collaboratively to make sense of the challenges, consider what is possible, and propose measurable goals and strategies for each issue area. Each workshop will build on what emerged
from the previous one, so consistent attendance from issue area group participants is critical to the process. Each issue area group will have professional facilitation and operational support from a team of consultants, city and county staff. The issue area
group facilitators will utilize an inclusive design process to support equitable participation and power sharing among all participants in the groups.</span><o:p></o:p></p>

<p style="margin:0in"><span style="color:black">We want to ensure that any member of the Austin/Travis County community who wants to participate in an issue area group can do so. Food will be served at all in-person meetings, and language translation/interpretation,
transportation assistance, and children’s activities during meetings are available as needed. Stipends are also available for participants for whom participation in an Issue Area Group is not part of their professional capacity and who could not otherwise
participate. </span><o:p></o:p></p>
