Hello all.

I need to hire someone local to Austin, TX who can work hourly part time for a few months to mentor and help me get my small cattle operation going.

I recently graduated from the Texas A&M Battleground to Breaking ground program and last year I purchased 15 acres of raw land south of Austin, TX (between Mustang Ridge, TX and Creedmore, TX off 130).

I need some help getting things going with my farm. I am planning to build a home on the property but progress has been slow on that front and I need to get animals on the property asap to keep my ag-exemption. I'm planning to buy 4 head of cattle at auction in Lockhart.

I'm really new to caring for cattle and I need some help getting the property in shape so I can actually have cattle on the property. I need help learning how to clear the land/brush clearing and planting grasses for the cows. I need help sourcing hay for the cattle, as well helping me put together a checklist of tasks for the land and the cattle. Lastly I need help ensuring the fencing that exists is safe and I need help putting out electric fencing near the pond on my property. I'm sure there's more but that's to start. I'm not really interested in leasing the land out.

If anyone has any advice for what the hourly rate for something like this would be, or if you know anyone who is able to help even 1 day a week that would really help.

Thanks!
