[Ctyfc] Introducing Two New Leaders!

Dear CTYFC Community,

Back in May, we opened nominations for our Leadership Team. Hayley and Mo
nominated themselves, and ran unopposed! Their passion for farming and
vision for building community and collaboration is inspiring and energizing
✨

We’re really excited to introduce y’all to these two incredible leaders and
growers below.

Amy and Ali are stepping down and Matt and I (Caro) are staying on an
interim basis. Thank you for everything, Amy and Ali! 💚🍄🐓

Elections for Vice President and Secretary will be held in the fall 🍂

Meet Mariana (Mo) Bonilla (she/they) - Treasurer!
I’m a farmer, beekeeper, herbalist and aspiring educator. I’m currently the
farm manager at @herban_austin <https://www.instagram.com/herban_austin/>,
a medicinal herb farm in East Austin. I’m passionate about food justice and
connecting people with plants.

"I decided to join the leadership team of CTYFC because it has been an
indispensable part of my journey as a young farmer. I believe it’s so
important for us farmers to spend time socializing and learning together
outside of the field so we can grow a more robust and collaborative local
food system."

Meet Hayley Wood (she/her) - President

"I work within the Farm Program of IDEA Public Schools as a full-time
production farmer! I’m also a beekeeper of five years, a budding veggie
grower, and an outdoor educator."

Getting involved with CTYFC opened me to the support I never knew I needed
as a young producer in Texas. To me, being a farmer in this community means
fostering the long-term safety, liberation, and interpersonal care of our
workers while rebuilding and reclaiming working relationships with our food
from the soil up.
